:edit: So the purple sky, albeit really cool and a very interesting color combo, just didn't fit. So today I inserted this new sky which I think is really cool and fits the painting much better. sky from: :edit:
There are heroes in the seaweed There are children in the morning They are leaning out for love And they'll lean that way forever -Leonard Cohen (I think) -compiled using Photoshop Elements 3
This has been an idea I've been tossing around my head for a while. Originally I had wanted it to be a ginormous acrylic on canvas but I haven't had time to take an art class for forever so that didn't seem likely. But I am VERY happy with the manip. result so I don't care.
It is a manipulation (clearly) illustrating or perhaps telling the story of those four lines. (I love that song (Suzanne) and the line " there are heroes in the seaweed " has always been inspiring to me)
So yesterday I had the motivation to start on the concept I'd come up with months ago. It did undergo quite a bit of modification from the original concept (including the man and woman swapping places.) But I still really like the result and I love the color scheme. Enjoy

thanks to for the beautiful woman and to for providing such an evocative stock of a man. provided all the images that went into creating the sea. provided that amazing pink sky. provided the splashes and provided the seaweed photos. and provided the rocks. provided the locket (i'd offer a prize for the people who found it but I just don't have that attention span so if you do find the locket thats great!) provided the sea gull way out there in the background.
is that it? I hope so. I used a shit-load of stocks on this and if someone sees something that wasn't credited, note me and I will correct the mistake.

This newsletter was "born" back in March 2007, from a conversation between ~Lareth and =FrozenStarRo, who with the help of their friends *Iardacil and =Sylwiaa , wanted to make something to promote known and unknown photomanipulators alike here on DeviantArt. As of September 2009 =ImaginaryRosse joined the project and will be helping us out with the weekly choices. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same. As of recent, the talented =Behana has joined us in bringing you this weekly newsletter and we are excited to have her on board. This is a special feature, with a selection of 50 manips from the past year that we loved.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
